chemistry/stoichiometry/balancing/ How to BalanceNaOH + CO2 = Na2CO3 + H2O

How to Balance Sodium hydroxide + Carbon dioxide → Sodium carbonate + Water

How to Balance: NaOH + CO2 → Na2CO3 + H2O

Type of Chemical Reaction: This is a chemical reaction.

Word Equation: Sodium hydroxide + Carbon dioxide → Sodium carbonate + Water

Balancing Strategies: Interesting reaction and one I've never tried. Seems to be similar to bubbling Carbon dioxide through limewater, a well known chemical reaction.

Take care counting the Oxygen atoms on both sides of the chemical equation.

About Balancing Chemical Equations

When balancing chemical equations our goal is to have the same number of each type of atom on both sides of the equation.

Only change the coefficients (these are the numbers in front substances).
Coefficients are the numbers in front of the molecule.
Never change the subscripts (the small numbers after elements).
Coefficients are the numbers in front of the molecule.
